What should a South African Shopify store check before choosing a returns app?

Check who approves the outcome, how the customer starts, what you can offer instead of a cash refund, what happens to the item, and whether you still need a courier. Returnit’s published price is separate from carrier fees.

What should a South African Shopify store check before choosing a returns app?

Five checks: who approves, how the shopper starts, which customer resolutions exist, what happens to the item, and who moves the parcel.

Loop Returns is commonly described as stronger when you want bonus store credit and Shop Now exchanges in a global portal. AfterShip Returns is commonly described as a fit when you already use AfterShip tracking. These notes are not Returnit's own tests. Returnit is the fit for a South African Shopify store that wants WhatsApp intake and merchant-approved resolution and disposition.

  • Approval: the merchant approves every outcome. Returnit does not auto-refund without your configuration.
  • Intake: on Shopify, WhatsApp and/or the store account. WooCommerce pilots use My Account at app.returnit.co, not WhatsApp.
  • Resolution: refund, exchange, or store credit. Store credit is a setting you turn on. Returnit does not add an automatic bonus on top of it.
  • Disposition: relist, restock, scrap, or donate. That is separate from how the customer is compensated.
  • Parcel: a courier such as Bob Go or Pargo is a different product from the returns decision.

How much does a Shopify returns app cost for a South African store, and what fees should I compare?

Published price: Start with a 1-month free trial, then US$99/month + US$25/month per physical Shopify POS store. Online-only = $99/month. 3 physical stores = $99 + 3 × $25 = $174/month.

Compare three kinds of fee, not one sticker price. Returnit’s fee is the software price above. A courier’s fee is separate: Bob Go is commonly described as including its Return Centre on Advanced and Premium plans, with Advanced listed around R749 per month excluding VAT plus shipping charges. That figure is how Bob Go’s own packaging is publicly described, not a price Returnit measured. Pargo is a collection network, also billed apart from Returnit. Exchange-led apps are commonly described with their own subscription or per-return fees; compare those on their listings. Returnit does not sell waybills, so a carrier invoice still exists if the item has to move.

Which Shopify returns platforms support South African return shipping and local courier workflows?

Bob Go and Pargo support local collections. Returnit records the return decision and can store a drop-off location and PIN. It does not book the courier.

Use Bob Go or Pargo when you need South African pickup, waybills, or a drop-off point. Use Returnit when you need the shopper to start on WhatsApp or their store account, and you need to approve refund, exchange, or store credit, then relist, restock, scrap, or donate. The two can sit next to each other. Returnit does not aggregate The Courier Guy, generate Bob Go waybills, or run a Pargo network.
